Privacy policy.

The Salv (“Salv,” “we,” “us”) is a clothing repair, tailoring, and creation studio based in Birmingham, Alabama. This policy covers this website and the services we provide through it.

Information you give us. When you request an estimate or send us a message, we collect your name, email address, and, if you choose to share it, your phone number, along with whatever you tell us about the garment and the work you want done. If you upload photos of an item, we store those photos.

Your record. Requesting an estimate creates a customer record tied to your email address so we can keep your orders together.

Basic usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other websites. It tells us which pages are visited, roughly what country a visit came from, and what kind of browser and device was used. It does not tell us who you are.

We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use tracking cookies.

To price your work, ask you follow-up questions, tell you when it is ready, keep a record of what we did, and understand, in aggregate, which parts of this site are useful. That is the whole list.

We may show finished work in our portfolio. Those photos never carry your name or contact details.

Only the services that keep this site running: our hosting and analytics provider, our database and file storage providers, and our email provider, each handling your information solely to deliver that service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

We keep order records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our tax and accounting obligations. You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are legally required to retain it.

Write to us and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights. In California, that includes the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to request its deletion, and the right not to be discriminated against for asking. We honor these requests regardless of where you live.

We use reputable providers and standard safeguards to protect your information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If something goes wrong, we will tell you promptly.

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be called out on the site.
